I was so excited when I ordered these bar stools, they remind me somehow of my childhood in the 70's. I took delivery today and after unpacking them I was straight away disappointed, they were advertised as natural oak so I was expecting this with a clear varnish but what I got was something with a orange looking wood stain which made them look like cheap 80's pine, I even checked the woodgrain to check if it was pine. I tried to love the stools but I couldn't get past the orange look. I called customer service and the lady I spoke with was lovely. She said if they look different to the photo on their website I should return them because there is clearly a problem. Sche took some notes to pass them on to the warehouse. I was given the option of a refund or re order with free delivery which I did because I love the style. Fingers crossed that the next lot will reflect the photo online, natural oak with a clear varnish. As a reference, the colour underneath the seating area which is natural is spot on ( minus the clear varnish) I just hope someone in their warehouse will see the notes from customer service and check the chairs destined for me to make sure they have not been stained with pine orange varnish.
